Mohammad Sadegh Mo'tamedian mentioned the necessity of utilizing the untapped capacities of the production sector during a meeting of the Tehran Province Government and Private Sector Dialogue Council held at the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture on Saturday afternoon, stating that productivity does not merely mean creating new capacities.

Mo'tamedian stressed that there are factories and units in Tehran Province that, for various reasons, are unable to fully utilize their capacities, and the obstacles to their operation must be identified and removed with the participation of the private sector.

The Necessity of Activating Economic Capacities

The Governor of Tehran referred to the lesser-known economic capacities of the province and stated that some of Tehran's capacities are not properly recognized even within the government and among private sector actors. Therefore, introducing opportunities, removing obstacles, and activating overlooked capacities should be on the joint agenda of the government and the private sector.

Mo'tamedian considered the development of exports as the main mission of free zones and stated that using the free zone's capacity for importing some essential needs should not overshadow the primary philosophy of establishing free zones. Supporting exports must be prioritized, and obstacles should be discussed in specialized meetings with active participants in this field.

Development of Infrastructure and Modern Systems

Mo'tamedian continued that the free zone must have access to standardized infrastructure and modern systems, and the relevant export-related agencies should be established, updated, and strengthened in this area. He also referred to focusing on the Imam Khomeini Airport Free Zone and announced that effective measures have been taken in this regard.

The Governor of Tehran, referring to the import of public transportation fleets and clean vehicles, noted that 150,000 hybrid public transportation vehicles have been purchased for Tehran and will gradually enter the province. This action could impact Tehran's main challenges, including fuel consumption, air pollution, and traffic.

He identified managing energy imbalance as one of the most important priorities ahead and considered ensuring sustainable energy for the residential sector as a government priority. Mo'tamedian also called for identifying customs obstacles and holding a specialized meeting with the presence of relevant agencies so that issues related to imports and exports can be resolved through coordination between customs and economic actors.
