Mohammad Reza Aref, the First Vice President, in a meeting of the Supreme Energy Council attended by various ministers and directors, discussed scenarios for managing gas consumption in different sectors. He pointed to the imbalance in the energy sector, especially gas, and announced that a good trend has been made in recent months to reduce these imbalances.

The necessity of saving energy consumption

Aref pointed out the damage inflicted on the country's energy infrastructure during the two recent imposed wars, stating that through round-the-clock efforts, part of this damage has been compensated. He also referred to the government's plan for solar energy development and mentioned that the President holds regular expert meetings to address energy imbalances through solar energy production.

The First Vice President emphasized that providing the energy needed for industries and agriculture is a prerequisite for government officials, and ensuring sustainable energy for the people is also among the government's priorities. He urged the public to help the government in maintaining the stability of the energy network by saving electricity and gas consumption.

Providing energy for industries and damage to production

Aref stated that if the public does not cooperate, we may have to implement some power cuts. He emphasized that cutting electricity to industries would lead to production shutdowns, unemployment for workers, and a decrease in export revenues. He also mentioned the need for cultural promotion regarding energy consumption management, saying that some individuals are willing to pay fines but do not reduce their consumption.

The First Vice President continued: "We are striving to return 250 million cubic meters of gas that have left the network back to the network, and we hope to return 100 million cubic meters to the network before the onset of winter." He also stressed the necessity of cooperation from executive agencies in this regard and mentioned that the President also emphasizes the need to maintain the stability of electricity and gas for industries.

Aref concluded by asking government officials to act with a comprehensive perspective in managing energy consumption and to pay attention to the shared concerns and responsibilities in providing energy for industries and households.
