Mohammad Ali Dehghan Dehnavy, the head of the Iran Trade Development Organization, emphasized the necessity of supporting exporters and removing internal obstacles during the 30th National Export Day ceremony. He appreciated the presence of government officials and referred to the decisive role of exporters in maintaining the flow of trade and the continuity of the country's economic activities, stating: "Despite difficulties in transferring funds, exporters have remained committed to their obligations and have worked to sustain employment."

Growth of Non-Oil Exports and Existing Challenges

Dehghan Dehnavy assessed the country's foreign trade performance under the conditions resulting from two wars and the environment created thereafter as noteworthy. He announced that the value of the country's foreign trade has reached approximately $52 billion in the year 1404. Although this figure has decreased compared to the first year of the fourteenth government's activity, it is still higher than the level of foreign trade in previous years. He believes that the decrease in the prices of petrochemical products, exported gas, and agricultural products are among the factors affecting this situation; however, non-oil exports in the industrial and mining sectors have seen significant growth.

Proposals for Facilitating Exports

The head of the Iran Trade Development Organization also referred to the 140% growth in technical and engineering service exports, stating that this performance has been achieved with the support of the President and the Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade. He emphasized the importance of transportation routes in the country's foreign trade, noting that 75% of the country's foreign trade is conducted via sea. Nevertheless, Dehghan Dehnavy stressed that with the efforts of various agencies, especially the private sector, they have been able to redefine alternative routes and continue the trade process.

Dehghan Dehnavy also highlighted Iran's capacities for trade development, adding: "The country possesses capabilities, knowledge, skills, and specialized human resources that can be utilized to increase trade volume from one billion dollars a week to one billion dollars a day."

In conclusion, he pointed out the rising transportation costs and considered the allocation of appropriate incentives as one of the solutions to compensate for the increased costs, expressing hope that with the inclusion of 10 new proposals in the decision-making cycle, the process of addressing issues and removing obstacles to export development would be expedited.
