Metal Shark, based in Louisiana, has signed two Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contracts with the United States Navy to produce patrol boats for the naval forces of Cameroon and the Republic of Georgia. Each contract includes one 38 Defiant patrol boat from Metal Shark, a transport trailer, a spare parts package, and operator training. These boats will be built at Metal Shark's manufacturing facilities in Jeanerette, Louisiana.

Enhancing Maritime Security

These contracts mark Metal Shark's entry into two new markets and provide new capabilities to modernize the naval fleets of Georgia and Cameroon. Henry Irizarry, Senior Vice President of International Business Development at Metal Shark, stated, "We are proud to assist these countries in enhancing maritime security, operational readiness, and mission effectiveness." The 38 Defiant patrol boat is a military and law enforcement platform designed to support coastal patrols, maritime interventions, port security, search and rescue, and other security missions.

Performance and Capabilities of the Patrol Boat

This boat is equipped for high-speed performance and agile responsiveness, and it also features a uniquely designed cabin that provides better visibility for the crew and protects them from various weather conditions. This platform is customizable and can be configured with different power packages and mission-specific equipment to meet diverse needs.

As maritime security has become increasingly strategically important globally, these contracts reflect the growing international demand for proven and capable patrol platforms. Chris Allard, CEO of Metal Shark, emphasized that the company is well-prepared to respond to this demand and is focused on expanding its global reach and entering new markets.

Through the United States' Foreign Military Sales program, these boats and associated support packages will help Cameroon and Georgia enhance their maritime law enforcement capabilities and protect territorial waters and critical infrastructure, responding more effectively to regional security challenges.

With over 70 military forces from U.S. partner countries currently using Metal Shark boats, these contracts further expand the company's established role in supporting naval forces globally. Metal Shark, as a leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance boats for military and rescue operations, has provided mission-ready platforms to customers in the United States and military forces in over 70 U.S. partner countries for more than two decades.
