Combating Fuel Smuggling and Strengthening Oversight
The President also reacted to the issue of fuel smuggling and the necessity of combating violations in this area, stating: "If the trade associations active in the transportation sector participate in the supervisory and managerial processes by accepting responsibility, they can minimize the occurrence of violations and prevent the tarnishing of the reputation of the country's diligent drivers and truckers."
Pezeshkian emphasized that utilizing the capacity of trade associations alongside the legal oversight of responsible agencies can help increase transparency and strengthen professional discipline in this field. This approach not only aids in improving the performance of drivers and truckers but can also lead to the preservation of national resources.
Proposal for Fleet Renewal
During this meeting, the proposal for the import of electric buses for the renewal of the intercity transportation fleet was also presented. This proposal was aimed at utilizing the capacities resulting from fuel savings and removing old buses from the operational cycle. The President agreed with this proposal and emphasized the necessity of examining and following up on its implementation prerequisites.
Based on this decision, the executive solutions and technical, economic, and financial requirements of this proposal will be examined, and the necessary mechanisms for utilizing the resources obtained from fuel savings for fleet renewal and the development of clean public transportation will be developed.
