In Mehr 1405, Markazi Province set a record for solar power production exceeding the consumption of the distribution network for the first time in the country. The solar energy production in this province reached 840 megawatts, while the consumption of the province's electricity distribution network was recorded at 767 megawatts. This surplus of 73 megawatts indicates the capability of Markazi Province in producing clean electricity and not putting pressure on the national grid.

Development of Solar Energy; A Necessity for Industry Survival

Markazi Province is one of the country's energy-intensive industrial hubs, with approximately 83 to 85 percent of its electricity consumed in the industrial and agricultural sectors. The electricity imbalance in summer 1405 severely impacted the industries of this province, with electricity supply limitations for industrial units reaching two days a week. Under these circumstances, the development of solar power became a necessity for the survival of industries.

The governor of Markazi warned industrial units that if industries do not supply at least 2 megawatts of their electricity consumption through solar power by the beginning of Khordad 1405, there will be no commitment to supply electricity to them in the summer. This policy allowed industries to move from a passive position to becoming active energy producers.

Agriculture Connects to the Power Grid

The agricultural sector of Markazi Province has also become a central focus of solar development. By Aban 1405, 92 agricultural wells have been equipped with solar panels, and their electricity has entered the production circuit. This innovation allows farmers to be exempt from power outages and sell their surplus electricity to the government. This financial mechanism has created a strong incentive for farmers and transformed them into active electricity producers.

Markazi Province currently produces about 1000 megawatts of solar power, not only ahead of schedule but also holds the top rank in the country in this field. The Ministry of Energy's planning to increase the province's solar power production capacity to 1800 megawatts by the end of 1405 and 2700 megawatts in 1406 continues.

These achievements demonstrate that Markazi Province, with targeted planning and private sector participation, has become a successful model in producing clean electricity and managing energy resources. This experience could serve as a national model for addressing energy imbalances.
