Behrouz Kamali, spokesperson for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, in response to the prevention of Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, from attending the International Atomic Energy Agency's general conference, considered this action a dangerous trend for all countries. He raised this issue as a serious threat to diplomacy and international cooperation.
Consequences of Preventing Eslami's Attendance
Kamali pointed out the importance of international conferences in creating a space for dialogue and exchange of ideas, stating that preventing representatives from various countries from attending can weaken international trust and harm collective efforts to solve global issues. He added: "This trend is a kind of violation of the fundamental principles of international cooperation that must be taken into account."
Emphasis on Diplomacy and International Cooperation
The spokesperson for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran also referred to the role of the International Atomic Energy Agency in monitoring and ensuring nuclear security, stating that this organization must act as a neutral body and prevent interruptions in international cooperation. He emphasized that diplomacy and dialogue are the best solutions for resolving existing disputes and challenges in the field of nuclear energy.
Kamali also pointed out that preventing Eslami's attendance at this conference could have negative impacts on Iran's relations with other countries and lead to increased tensions in the nuclear field. He continued that this action reflects some countries' unwillingness to engage in positive interaction and cooperation with Iran.
Considering that the International Atomic Energy Agency's general conferences provide an opportunity for member countries to share their views and experiences, Kamali urged other countries to distance themselves from this dangerous trend and move towards dialogue and understanding instead of prevention.
