Iraj Azizi, the head of the Government Trading Regulations of Sistan and Baluchestan, announced the issuance of a 31 billion rial fine for a fuel smuggler. This ruling was made after reviewing a case involving the illegal transport of 12,000 liters of gasoline valued at 10 billion and 380 million rials. The violation was examined in the branch handling violations of smuggling goods and currency in Chabahar.

Details of the Case and Issued Ruling

The head of the Government Trading Regulations of Sistan and Baluchestan stated that the examining branch, after confirming the violation, sentenced the accused to pay a cash penalty of 20 billion and 760 million rials based on clause "P" of Article 18 of the Anti-Smuggling Law. This fine was issued due to the confiscation of the discovered fuel from the accused. Additionally, considering that the market value of the vehicle exceeds the value of the confiscated fuel, an amount of 10 billion and 380 million rials was added to the accused's cash penalty.

Seizure of Vehicle and Its Consequences

Azizi also referred to the operations of the discovery units that, while monitoring the transportation routes, managed to seize a vehicle carrying smuggled fuel. This vehicle was immediately sent to the Government Trading Regulations in Chabahar, and its case was referred to the relevant branch for further processing. This action demonstrates the continuous efforts of responsible authorities to combat fuel smuggling and preserve national resources.

The recent conviction serves as a strong message to fuel smugglers and reflects the serious determination of responsible agencies to address violations and smuggling activities. Given the rising fuel prices and their economic repercussions, preventing fuel smuggling has become increasingly important, and it is expected that such actions will be prioritized more than ever.
