Hamid Fattahi, the Deputy Minister of Communications and head of the Regulatory Authority for Communications and Radio, elaborated on the challenges in the country's communication network and the roots of quality imbalance during his press conference. He believes that the lack of timely investment in the development of communication infrastructure is the main cause of the existing quality issues.
The Role of Deregulation in Improving Network Quality
Fattahi mentioned the new approaches of this organization in the meeting and announced the initiation of the deregulation process and reduction of market intervention. He emphasized that interaction with operators and utilizing their opinions and suggestions is one of the main priorities of the organization. According to him, over 90 percent of the structure of the country's communication operators is non-governmental, and the organization's duty is to facilitate the working conditions of these entities in challenging economic circumstances.

Formation of a Special Working Group to Enhance Quality

He stated that this working group is currently identifying the main quality challenges and will develop a precise roadmap to address shortcomings and enhance measurable indicators. He also pointed out the importance of focusing on network quality indicators in future programs.
He also highlighted the challenges related to energy imbalance and power outages as factors affecting network quality. Fattahi explained that energy imbalance and frequent power outages are serious threats to the stability of the country's communications, and this issue goes beyond battery wear or equipment theft.
The Necessity of Timely Investment in New Technologies
The head of the Regulatory Authority for Communications and Radio emphasized the necessity of timely investment in the development of communication infrastructure by comparing the current state of communications with the challenges in the energy sector. He stated that if the infrastructure does not develop in line with the growth of data consumption, the network will suffer from imbalance and quality degradation.
Fattahi, referring to historical experiences in the country's communication development, stressed that wherever timely and extensive investment has been made, we have witnessed satisfaction and sustainable responsiveness to societal needs. He said: "Today, overcoming imbalance requires revitalizing and facilitating investment in new technologies and infrastructure development."
