Jalal Hameh Hassani, the director of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company in the Kurdistan region, announced that the company’s inspectors have successfully discovered and seized more than 2,600 unauthorized fuel cards as part of efforts to organize supply channels and combat petroleum product smuggling. These cards were found from station employees and opportunistic individuals.
Details of Inspections and Discoveries
Over a period of time, more than 3,540 inspections of fuel supply stations in Kurdistan province have been conducted. Given the price differences of products on both sides of the border and the exploitation by some individuals, inspections are carried out continuously, especially at stations in border areas. Hameh Hassani emphasized that all fuel supply stations in the province are equipped with emergency cards so that individuals facing issues with their fuel cards for any reason can use these cards to obtain fuel.

Consequences of Discovering Unauthorized Fuel Cards
The discovered fuel cards are mainly related to private vehicles, migrant fuel cards, and public transport vehicles including taxis. After blocking these cards and examining the amount of illegal supply, their cases have been sent to the company's violations committee and referred to the relevant authorities and the government’s enforcement agency for further action. This measure is aimed at preventing the continuation of illegal activities and creating transparency in the fuel supply market.
Jalal Hameh Hassani concluded by highlighting the importance of these inspections in preventing smuggling and potential abuses, adding that this process will continue vigorously. He also urged citizens to cooperate with inspectors when encountering violations.
