ClassNK, a reputable organization in the field of ship evaluation and certification, has recently issued an Approval in Principle (AiP) for the design of a liquid carbon dioxide (LCO2) carrier with a capacity of 42,000 cubic meters. This approval has been issued to address the increasing needs for carbon dioxide transportation in carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects.

This review also includes risk assessment through HAZID. The Approval in Principle was issued after it was confirmed that the specified requirements in the design were met.
