On September 19, Carnival Cruise Line held a beach cleanup initiative in honor of World Beach Cleanup Day, involving members of its sea and shore team along with local partners. This effort took place globally at the company's home ports and destinations, showcasing Carnival's continued commitment to preserving the oceans and coastal communities.
Beach Cleanup Details
Throughout September, 377 ship team members across 29 ships and 111 shore team members, along with local partners, participated in 31 beach and waterway cleanup events. These efforts resulted in the collection of approximately 175 bags and over 5,000 pounds of trash and debris from coastal communities and waterways. The Carnival Glory, the last participating ship, will complete its cleanup on September 30, achieving 100% participation across the fleet.

Cleanup Locations
Cleanup locations included major U.S. home ports such as Galveston, Texas; Port Canaveral and Miami, Florida, as well as destinations in Alaska, the Caribbean, the Bahamas, Mexico, Greece, France, and Australia. These actions are part of Carnival's annual commitment to cleaner coastal communities, with team members participating in cleanup events throughout the year, having collected over 7,200 pounds of trash in 2026.
Christine Duffy, President of Carnival Cruise Line, stated: "We take pride in operating in the world's oceans and visiting some of the most beautiful coastal destinations, and with that pride comes a responsibility to protect them. This effort demonstrates what can be accomplished when our people and partners come together with a shared purpose to take meaningful actions to protect the oceans and the destinations we proudly visit."
These efforts are supported by local environmental organizations, port partners, and community groups, and are part of Carnival's sustainability commitment under the Our Sea Pledge program, which focuses on climate action, circular economy, sustainable tourism, biodiversity and conservation, inclusion, and belonging. These areas guide Carnival's efforts to protect the environment, preserve the destinations it visits, and create a positive impact in the communities it serves.
