Akastor has finalized the sale of the Skandi Peregrino vessel for $21.6 million. As a result of this deal, the subsidiary DDW Offshore, which owned the vessel, will completely exit its ship ownership activities.
Details of the Deal and Buyer
Akastor announced that the proceeds from the sale have been paid to DDW, and now this company has no vessels in its possession. The buyer of the vessel is the Norwegian company Anchor Australia, which will soon merge with the AHTS platform supported by 2020 Bulkers.

The Skandi Peregrino vessel was delivered to Anchor Australia on October 2, 2023. According to 2020 Bulkers, the completion of the deal is expected to take place on October 5, with approximately 55.7 million shares to be paid to the sellers of Anchor Australia through final adjustments.
Developments in the DDW Offshore Fleet
This deal comes after Akastor's unsuccessful attempt to sell the vessel last year. In March 2022, DDW signed an agreement to sell the vessel for $25 million, but this deal failed due to the lack of approval from the charterer.
Since then, DDW has gradually reduced its AHTS fleet. The sale of the Skandi Atlantic vessel for $22.75 million in January and then the sale of the Skandi Emerald for $23 million in June reflect this trend.
Implications of the Merger and Future of the AHTS Platform
The Skandi Peregrino vessel will now be part of a larger merger plan. Considering the remaining ongoing transactions, 2020 Bulkers has announced that the AHTS platform will control 15 vessels. This merger could strengthen the company's position in the oil and gas service market and provide new opportunities for fleet development.
Given the recent developments in the oil and gas industry, this deal could be a sign of larger changes in market structure. Akastor and 2020 Bulkers are seeking to increase their market share and improve financial conditions through these actions.
