Abdul Razak Narimani, the prosecutor of Qeshm, issued an order to confiscate more than 280 violating vehicles in the fuel sector as part of the fight against corruption in the fuel sector. This decision was made to protect the public quota and ensure fair distribution of fuel, aiming to reduce long queues and congestion at fuel stations.

Monitoring the fuel filling patterns of vehicles

Narimani emphasized that the records and patterns of vehicles visiting gas stations in the county are monitored online and continuously. These vehicles have been identified through smart monitoring systems and license plate recognition cameras installed at the stations. By monitoring the fuel filling patterns, a systematic and physical confiscation order for more than 280 vehicles has been issued, and these cases have been referred to the law enforcement for legal action.

Attention to violations and penalties

Narimani warned seriously about repeated and unusual fuel fillings, stating that vehicles that have filled fuel three times in one day are at the top of the violation monitoring list. He noted that without exception, confiscation orders will be issued for all of them, and the accused and relevant owners will soon be summoned to the prosecutor's office for judicial proceedings.

The prosecutor of Qeshm also reminded the necessity of developing monitoring equipment at the stations, stating: "The requirement to install and activate advanced license plate recognition cameras at all stations in the county provides a suitable platform for real-time monitoring and identifying unusual patterns, preventing exploitation by opportunists."

He concluded by emphasizing the judiciary's determination to combat any form of smuggling, off-network distribution, and disruption in the distribution of petroleum products, noting that if a crime is proven, deterrent penalties including imprisonment, vehicle confiscation, and heavy fines await the offenders.
