Yinson Productions, as the owner and operator of the floating unit based in Singapore, has signed a contract with Eni for a reform project on FPSO John Agyekum Kufuor, which operates off the coast of Ghana.
Details of the Reform Project
The reform project, expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2028, includes the construction and integration of two key modules in the upper part of the vessel designed to increase the gas capacity of this vessel. These modules include the MG2 module, equipped with two gas turbine-driven compressors, and the MC4 module, which is a supplemental gas treatment module designed to manage higher gas volumes.

Objectives and Implications of the Project
The main objective of the reform project is to install a gas compression system to address the anticipated decline in reservoir pressure and to increase the gas export capacity of the vessel from approximately 210 to 220 million standard cubic feet per day to 355 million standard cubic feet per day. Additionally, as part of the contractual reforms, the lease period for this unit has been extended for another four years and will now continue until 2036. Upon completion of the reform project, these contractual reforms will lead to an increasing rate until 2036.
This increasing rate and contract extension will raise the volume of firm contracts for Yinson Productions by approximately $600 million. As a result, this project will not only help increase gas operational capacity on the vessel but will also create new economic opportunities and strengthen Yinson's position in the global oil and gas market.
