Wärtsilä and WinGD have signed a new long-term service agreement that confirms their mutual commitment to supporting shipowners and operators around the world. This agreement is based on past collaborations since 2015 and affirms Wärtsilä's role as a reputable global service provider for WinGD two-stroke engines, Wärtsilä, and Sulzer.
Benefits of the Agreement for Shipowners
This agreement enables customers worldwide to benefit from flexibility and choice in service providers. Both WinGD and Wärtsilä offer global expertise and capabilities to help shipowners and operators maximize uptime, optimize maintenance planning, and prepare fleets for future fuels and decarbonization requirements.
Ensuring Continuous Support
Dominik Schneiter, CEO of WinGD, stated: "Our commitment to customers is to provide reliable, responsive, and trustworthy support throughout the entire lifecycle of their engines; whenever needed." This new service framework agreement with Wärtsilä complements our services and ensures that customers have access to the best expertise available for each engine generation. This agreement provides a robust and flexible service solution for diverse customers and WinGD's product base.
Roger Holm, President of Wärtsilä Marine and Executive Vice President of Wärtsilä Corporation, also emphasized the continuity of this service relationship, stating: "This agreement confirms the continuation of a long-term service relationship that has supported the WinGD installed base for over a decade." This contract allows shipowners and operators to access Wärtsilä's global service network, technical expertise, and lifecycle support, including long-term lifecycle agreements for two-stroke engines.
WinGD was established in 2015 with the sale of Wärtsilä's two-stroke engine division to the China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC). WinGD remains a global service provider and licensee for all two-stroke engines under the names WinGD, Wärtsilä, and Sulzer. Wärtsilä also continues to provide original spare parts, field services, workshop capabilities, technical support, long-term agreements, and decades of experience in installed bases.
The service framework agreement also reflects the long-term relationship between these two companies and assures customers that reliable and authorized support will be available throughout the operational life of their engines.
