Three large Iranian tankers that were seized by American forces in the Indian Ocean at the beginning of the war are now crossing the Atlantic Ocean and heading towards the shores of America, particularly Texas. The United States government intends to continue the process of seizing the oil cargo of these tankers.

Details of the Tankers and Cargoes

The two tankers named 'Tiffany' and 'Majestic X', which were seized in April, passed through areas near the shores of Brazil last week. The third tanker, 'Davina' (also known as 'Lenore'), recently entered the Atlantic Ocean after passing around the Cape of Good Hope.

Reports indicate that the U.S. Department of Justice has initiated legal proceedings regarding the seizure of the 'Tiffany' and 'Majestic X' tankers since April. These two tankers, also known as 'Phoenix', were seized near Sri Lanka, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security acted on a federal order to seize them along with a cargo of nearly 4 million barrels of Iranian oil. Additionally, the 'Lenore'/'Davina' tanker was stopped in the Indian Ocean in June.

Analysis of the Route and Final Destination of the Tankers

The reputable outlet The Maritime Executive, citing information from maritime tracking companies, has reported that these three tankers are carrying a total of about 6 million barrels of Iranian crude oil, currently estimated to be worth approximately $600 million. Currently, the 'Tiffany' and 'Majestic X' tankers are moving north along the Brazilian coast, while the 'Davina' has also headed into the Atlantic Ocean after rounding the Cape of Good Hope.

Although the final destination of these tankers is not officially indicated in their automatic identification system, experts speculate based on their current route that their destination is the United States, particularly Texas. If these tankers reach U.S. ports, these cargoes could be the first Iranian oil shipments to arrive on American soil after being seized in 2023.
