Mehdi Jamali-Nejad, the Governor of Isfahan, during a field visit to the second phase of the 600-megawatt East Sun Power Plant, reported on the implementation of solar energy projects in the province and stated that this project is progressing at a suitable pace. He explained that the second phase of this power plant began at the start of October this year and has set notable records in some areas.

Commitments to Renewable Energy Development

Jamali-Nejad, referring to a total capacity of 5,300 megawatts committed for renewable energy development in the province, stated that it is expected that by the end of this year, 1,200 megawatts of this capacity will be completed. Currently, about 705 megawatts of capacity is operational. He added: "One of the differences between Isfahan and some other provinces is that a significant portion of the capacities created in the province have actually become operational."

Competition in Solar Energy Development

The Governor of Isfahan also mentioned the close competition between Isfahan and Markazi Province in the development of solar energy capacities and said: "The top position in the country among these two provinces is shifting; however, Isfahan's advantage in solar energy development lies in the diversity of projects and the presence of various organizations and entities in this field." He also referred to projects related to the development of solar systems on residential rooftops and emphasized that Isfahan is likely in the top position in the country in this regard.

The Role of Mobarakeh Steel in Renewable Electricity Production

Jamali-Nejad further referred to the role of Mobarakeh Steel in developing renewable electricity production capacities and added: "This organization follows the project timeline and is committed to fulfilling its obligations to the province." He expressed hope that other investors could also be attracted to this sector to increase renewable electricity production capacity in the province in the coming years.

Facilitating Investment in Solar Energy

The Governor of Isfahan, in response to a question about supporting new investments in solar energy, given the energy imbalance and the capacity of lands in eastern Isfahan, stated that various organizations have come together to facilitate these investments. According to him, the Natural Resources, Agricultural Jihad, Ministry of Energy, and other relevant organizations are cooperating in this regard.

Jamali-Nejad concluded by highlighting the importance of the self-sufficiency model of Mobarakeh Steel and said: "Today we see the self-sufficiency model in Mobarakeh Steel. The conditions of this organization are different from many other industries in the country, and this is valuable for us."
