The government is seeking to reduce gas imbalance in the country by importing gas from Turkmenistan and Russia. As winter approaches, this issue has become one of the fundamental challenges for the country, and activating and strengthening the strategy of importing gas from northern neighbors is considered a strategic necessity.
The necessity of gas imports
Experts believe that to establish a balance between the needs of industries, power plants, and household consumption for heating, the process of importing gas from Turkmenistan and Russia should begin now. This action can serve as a guarantee for the stability of the energy network on a large scale and prevent widespread blackouts in the production sectors.

The challenge of gas imbalance
Currently, gas imbalance in the country has become one of the key issues. It is predicted that the imbalance will increase to about 100 million cubic meters per day compared to the surplus available in the cold season, which will pose challenges in supplying gas for important economic sectors and electricity generation. Therefore, smart demand management and securing alternative resources to prevent disruptions in the production cycle and maintain public welfare during severe cold is essential.
