Mohammad Alahdad, the CEO of Tavanir Company, pointed out the difficult conditions of the electricity industry during the war, stating: “When the war began, the country's electricity facilities faced extensive damage, and our colleagues in the electricity industry had to continuously be present in the field to rebuild and repair the damaged facilities. Despite these conditions, the main goal was to keep the electricity network ready to pass through the summer.”

Consumption Management and Public Cooperation

He continued: “Alongside the damages inflicted on various sectors of the industry, including petrochemicals, ensuring electricity supply to these units also became one of the important responsibilities of the electricity industry. In this regard, we requested the public to cooperate with the electricity industry in managing consumption so that we could supply the electricity needed for different regions of the country, especially the south.”

Alahdad stated that the electricity industry personnel faced unusual conditions during this period, saying: “Whenever an incident or explosion occurred, our colleagues had to be present at the site as quickly as possible to address the damage and restore the network to normal conditions. These conditions put a lot of pressure on the electricity industry staff, but our colleagues were committed throughout this time.”

Reduction of Network Limitations and Increased Electricity Supply to Petrochemicals

The CEO of Tavanir mentioned that one of the results of consumption management programs was a 3% decrease in electricity demand, stating: “This effort began last year, and this year we were able to reduce electricity consumption by 3% for the second consecutive year.”

He added: “Achieving this goal would not have been possible without the cooperation of the public and the efforts of the electricity industry staff. In a situation where, alongside the increase in electricity demand, some of the country's infrastructure was also affected by incidents and damages, consumption management played an important role in maintaining network stability.”

Alahdad also referred to the government's support for the development of renewable energies, stating: “In this area, there was special support from the government and the President, Dr. Pezeshkian, which helped the development of renewable programs.”

The CEO of Tavanir noted the significant reduction in network limitations, saying: “Last year, we had about 850,000 limitations in the network, which this figure has decreased to about 389,000 this year. Thus, the amount of network limitations has decreased by about 54%.”

He also discussed the status of electricity supply to industries, saying: “The amount of electricity supplied to petrochemicals has significantly increased compared to the past, and in this sector, we witnessed an increase in electricity delivery of about six times.”

Alahdad pointed to the efforts made in the field of electricity economy and consumption management, stating: “The green board has doubled compared to the past, and the optimization board has also flourished. In the field of smart technology, there has been about a 25% increase in the installation of smart meters, bringing the total number of installed meters to 7.5 million devices.”

He continued: “The total actions taken in the field of consumption management and smart technology have resulted in a reduction of over 2,500 megawatts from the network load. These actions, alongside the cooperation of subscribers and consumption management programs, played an important role in passing through the peak consumption period.”

The CEO of Tavanir also discussed unplanned outages, stating: “Last year, we had 31 outages without prior notice, but this year this figure has reached zero. Additionally, technical incidents in the network decreased by 13%.”

Alahdad emphasized the importance of network stability this summer, saying: “Despite the difficult conditions, the electricity network remained stable, and we did not face a network collapse. This is considered an important achievement for the entire electricity industry.”
