Seaway 7 has been selected as the main supplier for construction work on the 1.4GW Berwick Bank B wind farm, owned by SSE Renewables. This project is located 38 kilometers off the coast of Scotland and is expected to become the world's deepest fixed offshore wind farm.
Project Details and Contract
The contract includes the design, supply, and installation of approximately 90 fixed turbine foundations and underwater cables for the project. The average water depth in this area is 52 meters, and the installation work is expected to involve the vessels Seaway Alfa Lift, Seaway Strashnov, and Seaway Phoenix. A location in Scotland for storing the turbine foundations will be selected, which has not yet been announced.

Dates and Upcoming Milestones
This agreement is subject to the final awarding of the contract and SSE's final investment decision, which is expected to take place in late 2027. Financial details of the project have not yet been released. If approved, offshore pre-construction work may begin in 2028, with the installation of foundations and underwater cables expected to be completed between 2029 and 2031.
Seaway 7 and SSE Renewables have previously collaborated on similar projects, including the Beatrice and Seagreen wind farms. The Berwick Bank B project is part of the broader 4.1GW Berwick Bank development, which received approval from the Scottish Government in July 2025.
The 1.4GW phase of this project secured a 20-year price difference contract earlier this year, providing long-term revenue assurance for the project. Last month, SSE selected Montrose Port as the preferred operations and maintenance base for Berwick Bank B.
