Saeed Tavakoli today emphasized the necessity of providing domestic gas in the upcoming winter during the optimal fuel consumption working group in Golestan province and stated: "Our red line is providing domestic gas, and we will not allow the network to reach a condition where pressure reduction and instability lead to collapse."
Crisis Management and Corrective Actions
Tavakoli, referring to the recent incident at the country's gas facilities that led to a severe reduction in gas production, stated: "This incident was one of the most unprecedented events in the gas industry in terms of intensity and speed, affecting about 230 million cubic meters of the country's gas production capacity in less than three minutes." He added: "Despite the serious damages inflicted on the facilities, the country's transmission and power network remained stable, and this was the result of examining weaknesses and implementing corrective actions after the 12-day war."

Development of Gas Infrastructure in Northern Country
The Deputy Minister of Oil, referring to the gas network situation in the northern country, said: "Due to the population shift towards the north, the development of energy infrastructure has not been commensurate with this demographic change, and today we must take action to compensate for this lag." He continued: "A significant portion of the country's gas consumption in these areas is related to the residential and commercial sectors, while the consumption capacity and network load have increased. Therefore, strengthening gas infrastructure in the northern country is a necessity."
Tavakoli also referred to the implementation of a comprehensive plan for the development of the northern network and said: "Currently, a significant portion of the capacities are being liberated and completed, and we are striving to ensure that provinces like Golestan do not find themselves in the worst possible conditions."
Consumption Management and Energy Savings
The CEO of the National Gas Company of Iran added: "Energy consumption management is the simplest and fastest solution to overcome the energy imbalance in the country." He pointed to the savings potentials in various sectors and said: "In the agricultural sector, especially poultry farms, there are possibilities to implement various plans to reduce gas consumption, and private sector investors can enter this field."
Tavakoli emphasized the necessity of continuous fuel supply, stating: "Bakeries must have alternative fuel, as food security and people's lives should not depend on a single fuel source." He added: "Even if we get through this winter, the issue of gas imbalance will still exist in the coming years, and from 1407 onwards, with the continuous reduction of gas resource production, the necessity for pressure-increasing projects and consumption management will become more critical."
