Reza Sepahvand, representative of the people of Khorramabad in Parliament and spokesperson for the Energy Commission, announced the implementation of the emergency fuel station card identification plan by the end of the year. According to him, based on the seventh development plan, all fuel cards must be connected to individuals' bank cards. This action is being carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Oil, and the Planning Organization.
Details of the plan and implementation stages
Sepahvand further stated that this plan has previously been implemented on a trial basis and that its implementation began in five provinces at the beginning of October. Gradually, this plan will be extended to all stations in these provinces to fully connect fuel cards to bank cards. He added that the mechanism for using bank cards to withdraw fuel quotas is being arranged by the Ministry of Economy.

Consumption management and prevention of gasoline smuggling
The spokesperson for the Energy Commission of the Parliament emphasized that the most significant effects of implementing this plan include managing gasoline consumption and preventing gasoline smuggling. With this plan, each individual is required to withdraw gasoline using their bank card, and gas station owners will no longer be able to independently withdraw this gasoline. Sepahvand also pointed out that for withdrawing gasoline quotas, the vehicle must be active; meaning that old and inactive vehicles with fuel cards will not be able to use the gasoline quota.
With the implementation of this plan, the possibility of misuse of fuel cards for inactive vehicles and their transfer to other locations, including borders, will also decrease. Sepahvand noted that the progress of this plan's implementation is expected to be completed by the end of the third year of the seventh development plan, and it is anticipated that this plan will be fully operational by the end of 2026.
