Key Articles and Economic Goals of the Plan
Article ١ of the plan is dedicated to creating a management and oversight mechanism for the movement of vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. This article includes navigation guidance and supervision over the entry and exit of vessels and safety services. In fact, this article aims to establish an Iranian management system for maritime traffic.
Article ٣ addresses the collection of fees for services provided to ships and aims to transform Iran's relationship with vessel traffic from a purely security-based relationship to a security-service-economic relationship. This plan also includes articles related to the insurance of vessels and the determination of service and insurance tariffs to provide financial and insurance backing for potential damages resulting from navigation.
The total of these ١٦ articles creates a comprehensive framework for managing maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf and can contribute to ensuring security and sustainable development in this region. With the approval of this plan, Iran can play a more effective role in managing maritime traffic and providing services to passing vessels.
