Contract Terms and Exclusive Access
Seagems has obtained exclusive access to its vessels by signing a memorandum of understanding, which includes a purchase option. This allows the contractor to expand its fleet beyond the current six vessels if the Petrobras contract is finalized.
Petrobras launched this tender earlier this year for contracts starting in 2028. The tender includes five packages with various technical requirements and offers four-year lease periods. Seagems has submitted requests for both the Jade vessel and third-party vessels.

The current relationship between Petrobras and Seagems was restructured in 2024 when Seagems, then operating as Seabras Sapura, secured three-year contracts worth $1.8 billion with Petrobras, which included its entire fleet of six PLSV vessels. These contracts clearly demonstrate Petrobras' confidence in Seagems' operational capabilities and its ability to provide the necessary services in this industry.
