Investment and Strategic Partnerships
Perma-Pipe has announced that this decision reflects its confidence in Jordan's potential as a regional industrial hub and its commitment to local investment, job creation, and skill development. In line with this investment, Perma-Pipe and Welspun are looking to create an integrated platform for the production and coating of pipes in Jordan that will be capable of serving large water, oil and gas, energy, and infrastructure projects.
This collaboration combines Welspun's capabilities in producing large-diameter pipes with Perma-Pipe's expertise in anti-corrosion coating systems and engineered piping solutions. The two companies are addressing the technical, commercial, financial, and regulatory requirements related to this project, which includes facility design, production capacity, coating technologies, and market requirements.
In the future, this center could contribute to the development of infrastructure and reconstruction needs in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Gaza. Additionally, this project could provide future opportunities related to the development and rerouting of regional oil and gas infrastructure towards the Port of Aqaba.
Saeed Saqar, President and CEO of Perma-Pipe, stated in a statement that the proposed investment in Jordan aligns with the company's strategy for expanding production and coating in strategic markets. He also highlighted the importance of this investment in creating attractive growth opportunities.
Vipul Matur, CEO of Welspun, also noted that this collaboration with Perma-Pipe is part of investments being made in oil and gas projects both onshore and offshore, water infrastructure development, and reconstruction opportunities across the Middle East.
