Orlen and Naftogaz Ukraine expanded their cooperation by signing two memoranda aimed at enhancing the supply of liquefied gas and petroleum products. These memoranda are designed to diversify supply routes and strengthen energy supply stability in Ukraine and Europe.
Details of the Memoranda
The first memorandum allows the two companies to explore the potential for supplying three liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipments in the first quarter of 2027. Orlen explained that these additional volumes are part of the company's efforts to develop LNG business activities and strengthen its role as a reliable supplier in regional markets.

Ireniusz Fafara, CEO of Orlen and Chairman of the Board, stated: "Cooperation with Ukraine is an important part of Orlen's commitment to energy security in Europe. Strengthening our partnership with Naftogaz creates more opportunities for supply diversification and improves the resilience of the regional energy system. We see this as a sustainable partnership that benefits both companies."
Development of Oil Cooperation
The second memorandum focuses on potential cooperation between Orlen and Ukrnafta, part of the Naftogaz group, regarding the supply of petroleum products to the Ukrainian market. This collaboration is seen as part of the Polish company's efforts to develop its business proposal and strengthen its position in regional markets.
The two companies are also exploring the possibility of supplying Ukrainian crude oil for processing at Central European refineries, which may include the transfer of used oil trucks to Ukrnafta to support the transportation of petroleum products.
Serhiy Fedorentsko, Acting CEO of Naftogaz Ukraine, emphasized: "Orlen is an important strategic partner for Naftogaz. In the face of ongoing Russian attacks on our domestic production facilities, having reliable gas supply sources and diverse delivery routes is especially vital for us."
Orlen and Naftogaz are gradually developing their cooperation, which includes supplying natural gas from U.S. LNG and broader business collaborations in Europe. These collaborations represent an important step toward strengthening energy security in the region.
