Noble Corporation has signed a long-term contract for its drilling rig, Noble Faye Kozack, with Tullow Oil. This agreement allows the rig to join a drilling campaign off the coast of Ghana after completing its current operations in Brazilian waters.

Contract Details

The new contract allows the 2013 drilling rig to drill up to 10 wells in Ghanaian waters. This project is expected to commence in mid-2027. Currently, the rig is working for Petrobras in Brazil and is actively engaged according to Noble's fleet status report in July 2026.

Drilling Rig Capabilities

Noble Faye Kozack has a maximum drilling depth of 40,000 feet and can operate in water depths of up to 12,000 feet. Its design is of the Samsung 12000 Double Hull type, allowing it to perform optimally in various marine conditions.

Black Denton, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Contracts at Noble, stated regarding this new contract that "this contract represents a strong working relationship between Tullow and Noble and the performance our teams provide off the coast of Ghana. Noble Faye Kozack is well-prepared to support this campaign, and we look forward to starting work."

Noble's Financial Status

Noble reported at the end of July 2026 that the value of new contracts has reached approximately $200 million since the fleet status report in April 2026. This includes a contract for drilling six wells for Noble Viking and a contract for drilling three wells for Noble Claus Bachmann. Consequently, Noble's backlog has reached $6.8 billion.

These developments indicate stability and growth for Noble in the offshore drilling industry, and it is expected that this figure will increase further with the commencement of new projects.
