Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, reacted to recent statements by Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, in his pre-scheduled speech at today's open session of the parliament, which was held via webinar. He threatened that if Iran cannot sell its oil, "no one will sell oil" in the region and emphasized: "If our security is not ensured, no infrastructure will be safe."
Concerns over Foreign Threats
In this speech, Qalibaf referred to existing threats against Iran and stated that the people of Iran should never be intimidated by "siege and threats." He clarified: "If the American enemy's calculation apparatus does not understand this fundamental truth, it will remain trapped in the cycle of receiving heavy blows from the Iranian nation."

Preparedness to Counter Threats
Ibrahim Azizi, the head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament, had previously announced that the country is prepared to respond to a war worse than the 40-day war. These statements reflect deep security concerns regarding sanctions and their impact on Iran's oil industry. The stringent sanctions imposed particularly by the United States against Iran have severely reduced the country's oil sales, jeopardizing Iran's economic and national security.
As a result, the statements of Qalibaf and other Iranian officials reflect their firm determination to confront foreign threats and maintain national security. While sanctions have significantly impacted Iran's oil industry, Iranian officials believe that they must defend their national interests at all costs.
