Masoud Moradi, Deputy for Production Management at Thermal Power Generation Company, regarding the planning done for electricity supply and fuel storage of power plants in the second half of the year and passing through the cold seasons, stated that currently power plants are entering the cold season with adequate fuel reserves.
Fuel Supply and Gas Consumption Savings
Moradi, referring to the completion and filling of fuel tanks of power plants at the end of summer, emphasized that these actions have enabled power plants to have better preparedness for electricity supply in the winter season with proper fuel storage. He added: "Necessary measures have been taken for winter fuel supply, and the existing tank capacities and various transportation methods will be utilized."
The Deputy for Production Management also emphasized the importance of saving gas consumption and said: "The more people save on gas consumption, the more gas can be allocated to power plants, and we will face fewer problems in supplying fuel to power plants."
Maintenance Plans and Readiness of Power Plants
Moradi explained about the maintenance plans for power plants that from the beginning of the second half of the year and from October, there are about 115,000 megawatts of maintenance plans for power plants, most of which will be carried out in the three months of autumn and also in the last month of the year. The goal is to complete the repairs by the end of Ordibehesht so that in case of increased electricity consumption in the summer of next year, power plants do not face problems.
He pointed out the readiness of power plants during last year's peak consumption, noting that on the peak consumption day of last summer, 1405.5.5, power plants had about 98.8% production readiness, which is a significant figure. Moradi also emphasized the necessity of public cooperation in consumption management and added: "If people cooperate in managing consumption, it is possible for some power plants to go offline for repairs sooner."
He also referred to the factors affecting electricity supply in the winter season and said: "The electricity situation in the cold season depends on several factors; one of these factors is fuel supply." Currently, there is no imbalance in electricity production, and there are no specific concerns in this regard.
In conclusion, Moradi emphasized that if there is proper interaction and cooperation among different sectors and consumption management is carried out, winter can be passed without problems, and public cooperation in this regard is very important.
