Reederei Nord, the owner and operator of the German shipping company, has made significant leadership changes in Hamburg by promoting two experienced managers to senior positions. These developments come as CEO Kurt Klemme is placing greater emphasis on maritime investments and new projects.

Leadership Changes at Reederei Nord

Klemme will remain as the CEO of Reederei Nord and will primarily focus on developing new maritime projects for family and foreign investors. Neubert, who started as an intern at Reederei Nord in 2007, will now be responsible for overseeing the fleet operations managed in Hamburg. Throughout his career, he has worked in various fields including recruitment, chartering, and operations, and has three and a half years of experience at the Hansatich Unity chartering office in Singapore.

Moving Towards Larger Vessels

These managerial changes come as Reederei Nord is moving towards larger cargo ships. In May, the shipping company was linked to the order of four Newcastlemax vessels with a capacity of 211,000 tons at the Wuhu shipyard in China. This order includes two firm units and two additional options, with deliveries planned for 2028 and 2029. Shipbuilding databases now indicate that two Newcastlemax vessels and a pair of ships with a capacity of 176,700 tons have been registered at the same yard.

Founded in 1964 by Klaus E. Oldendorff, Reederei Nord has expanded its operations in Hamburg, Amsterdam, and Limassol by growing its business in dry bulk, container transport, and tankers. These managerial changes and new investments reflect the company's determination to advance in global markets and increase its fleet capacity.
