Majid Mansouri, CEO of Kowsar Pipe Rolling Company of Espadana, in an interview with Erasain reporter, discussed the importance of exports in the current conditions of the country and said: "In a situation where sanctions and war have created limitations for the country's currency earnings, the activities of producers who continue to produce and export despite difficulties are of special importance."

Company's Export Performance

He elaborated on the company's export performance, stating that the company began its export activities in 2016 and has so far exported approximately 12,000 tons of products worth over 10 million dollars to foreign markets. The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and northern African countries have been among the export markets of this collection.

Standards and Quality of Products

The CEO of Kowsar Pipe Rolling Company of Espadana pointed to the company's history in provincial evaluations, stating: Kowsar was recognized as a commendable exporter of Isfahan province in 2019, 2022, and 2023, and also earned the title of exemplary exporter of the province in 2020 and 2025. The trophy and certificate related to this company's selection in 2025 were recently awarded by the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce.

Mansouri continued: "Kowsar Company, with its spiral steel pipe production lines, has the capability to produce products in the diameter range of 8 to 120 inches." These products, ranging from 8 to 64 inches, have been exported via land, rail, and sea routes according to the needs of projects and target markets.

He emphasized the role of technical standards in export development, stating: "This company, in addition to domestic standards, has obtained the necessary certifications and specialized standards required for operation in export markets." As part of the development path, obtaining the necessary standards for the European market is also planned.

The CEO referred to the challenges of production and export activities during the war and said: "Continuing production and exports under those conditions was not easy, but the factory did not stop its operations, and exports continued during that period as well. The continuity of activities in such conditions highlights the importance of planning, maintaining production capacity, and sustaining connections with foreign markets."

Export Challenges and Obstacles

Mansouri identified one of the most significant challenges for exporters as the constant changes in customs and trade laws and regulations, adding: "Frequent changes in the regulations and directives issued by various agencies make long-term planning difficult for producers and exporters."

He also pointed to banking restrictions and the difficulties of currency transfer, stating: "These restrictions lead exporters to sometimes resort to currency exchanges and alternative methods. These paths can increase the cost of currency transfer and the risk of transactions."

Suggestions for Facilitating Exports

Mansouri emphasized the role of the Trade Development Organization, customs, and the Export Guarantee Fund in supporting exporters, stating: "If the goal is to increase exports and bring currency into the country, a mechanism should be designed to facilitate currency return for exporters."

He suggested that establishing a specialized currency bank or exchange under the Trade Development Organization could provide a clear and transparent path within the framework of legal mechanisms to facilitate currency transfer and reduce the ancillary costs for economic actors.
