Background of the Marjan Field
The Marjan oil field is a large and current oil and natural gas field in the Persian Gulf, located off the eastern coast of Saudi Arabia. This field was discovered in 1967 and has been operational since 1973, fully owned and managed by Aramco. This asset has been a focal point in the multi-billion dollar Marjan Crude Increment Programme, which led to an increase in production capacity of 300,000 barrels per day, bringing total production to 800,000 barrels per day.
KBR expects to conduct engineering work primarily from its offices in Houston and Al Khobar, continuing its role in improving oil infrastructure in the region with this project.
