Pourghasem emphasized that human or technical error during the repair process led to the release of harmful gases and environmental pollution. This pollution not only had environmental consequences but also caused respiratory issues and injuries to several employees of nearby industrial units.
Actions Taken for Crisis Management
Continuing, Pourghasem discussed the actions taken for crisis management, saying: "With the presence of environmental expert teams and immediate coordination with the fire department, operations for securing and controlling the gas leak began." Thanks to the efforts of rescue teams and adherence to technical guidelines, further spread of pollution was prevented.
The head of the Isfahan County Environmental Protection Department stressed the need for strict action against violations of environmental standards and noted that following field investigations, a formal written warning has been issued to the offending unit. This unit has been given a deadline to immediately address technical deficiencies and enhance environmental safety protocols.
Pourghasem concluded by stating: "The health of citizens and the preservation of air quality in the environment is a red line for the Isfahan County Environmental Department. This industrial unit is currently under the supervision of our experts, and any further activities are conditional upon safety approvals and complete elimination of potential hazards.
