Fugro, a Dutch contractor, has signed a pipeline survey program contract for the Greater Sunrise and Bayu Undan pipelines in Timor-Leste. This project will aid in the development and planning of key energy infrastructure in the region, which plays an important role in the future energy of Timor-Leste as two strategic projects.

Survey Program Details

Under this contract, Fugro will conduct a comprehensive program to identify marine locations, including geophysical surveys, seismic studies, and AUV surveys. This program will be implemented in deep marine areas with depths exceeding 3,000 meters.

This program will provide comprehensive information about the seabed and geotechnical insights to support pipeline routing, engineering design, geological hazard assessment, and safe marine operations.

Enhancing Efficiency and Data Quality

Fugro aims to enhance operational efficiency, data quality, and project monitoring by utilizing advanced AUV technology and real-time support from its remote operations centers. The surveyed data will be processed and quality controlled through Fugro's regional data centers in Kuala Lumpur and Perth.

Project planning and mobilization activities are expected to commence in the third quarter of 2026, with marine survey operations starting in the fourth quarter. The marine campaign will be conducted over approximately three months.

This project strengthens Fugro's position as one of the leading providers of marine site identification and survey services in the Asia-Pacific region, delivering reliable geospatial data to its clients for safer, more sustainable, and efficient projects.
