EnerMech has signed a new contract with Subsea7 to provide pre-commissioning services for an underwater development project off the coast of Trinidad and Tobago. This contract allows EnerMech to utilize local equipment and expertise to provide services for the Ginger underwater development project, which is owned by BP.
Contract Details and Services Provided
Under this contract, EnerMech will provide services including pipeline and subsea testing, flushing, hydrostatic testing, water filling, leak testing, and commissioning support. These services are aimed at preparing the subsea production system (SPS) for operation. The contract also includes installation and commissioning phases of the project.
Project Location and Production Timeline
The Ginger project is located off the southeastern coast of Trinidad at water depths of up to 90 meters. The development of this project includes four subsea wells and subsea trees that will be connected to the existing Mahogany B platform. The first gas from this project is expected to be produced in 2027.
Daryl Sukdeo, Vice President of EnerMech in the Caribbean region, noted that the company's continued presence in Trinidad and Tobago brings significant benefits to projects of this scale. He added, "By combining local knowledge and experienced personnel with existing equipment in the region, we can provide our clients with a responsive and efficient service model."
Sukdeo also highlighted EnerMech's commitment to supporting local content, stating that this contract showcases the company's capabilities in the country while creating opportunities for local participation and domestic delivery.
Last summer, EnerMech also successfully completed a pipeline flushing job for Subsea7 as part of a field reduction program in the Gulf of Mexico. These projects demonstrate EnerMech's capabilities in delivering complex and advanced services in the oil and gas industry.
