Diversity of Electricity Supply Sources
The management of the electricity supply portfolio at Chaharmahal Steel Sheet Company is designed to source electricity from multiple pathways. Mehdi Mohammadi, the manager of technical services and support at the company, emphasized that diversifying electricity supply sources is aimed at two main objectives: reducing energy supply costs and increasing supply stability. In this regard, the simultaneous use of bilateral contracts, the electricity market, renewable energies, and savings certificates has been prioritized.
Intelligent Energy Management and Economic Impacts
Mohammadi pointed out the importance of intelligent energy management in the industry, stating that decisions regarding the timing, method, and combination of supply sources have a direct impact on production stability and operational costs. Therefore, the company has continuously monitored market conditions and production line needs to select an optimal combination of electricity sources that creates the greatest technical and economic effectiveness.
Reza Hamzian, head of the central repair technical office, also referred to the role of planned electricity supply in maintaining production line stability, adding that this approach has not only reduced energy costs but also improved the company's economic performance and profitability.
Hossein Davoodi, a maintenance and prevention expert in the technical office, discussed the effects of energy imbalance on industrial units, stating that electricity supply limitations can directly lead to line stoppages and reduced production. In such circumstances, moving towards a diverse portfolio of electricity sources increases the flexibility of the organization in facing challenges.
Overall, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Steel Sheet Company supplied approximately 76 million kilowatt-hours of electricity through various methods during the reviewed one-year period. This approach has enabled more precise planning for production and more sustainable operation of the lines, highlighting the importance of diversifying the electricity supply portfolio in facing energy supply challenges.
