The Economic Security Police of Hormozgan province discovered over 537 billion and 500 million rials worth of smuggled goods and fuel in this province and also in Fars province during a coordinated operation. These discoveries were made following the implementation of a plan to combat smuggling of goods and currency.

The head of the Economic Security Police of Hormozgan announced that the officers of this police force, while controlling the transit routes from Bandar Abbas to Khamir and the road to the village of Khonserakh, became suspicious of two trucks and stopped them. During the inspection of one of the trucks, two and a half tons of smuggled fan parts and foreign cooling equipment without customs permits were discovered, which experts estimated the value of this shipment at 40 billion rials.
In addition, during the inspection of a fuel tanker truck, 29,000 liters of smuggled diesel without legal documents were discovered and seized, valued at 29 billion rials. These actions demonstrate the ongoing efforts of the Economic Security Police in combating the smuggling of goods and fuel.
Discovery of smuggled shipments in Fars
In Fars province, the head of the Economic Security Police reported the discovery of various smuggled goods worth 406 billion and 500 million rials. These shipments were discovered following intelligence operations and control of transit routes in the cities of Shiraz, Kuhchenar, Pasargad, Larestan, and Mehr. In these operations, three light and heavy cargo vehicles were seized.
The discoveries in this province included 4 metal detectors, 2,412 rolls of fabric, 11 tons of wood, 38 various household appliances, and one heavy motorcycle, all of which were foreign and lacked legal and customs documents. Additionally, in the counties of Pasargad and Kharameh, the Economic Security Police officers, in implementing a plan to combat the smuggling of petroleum products, succeeded in discovering 41,860 liters of smuggled diesel from two fuel depots, valued at 62 billion rials.
In total, the value of the smuggled shipments discovered in these four operations reached 537 billion and 500 million rials. In this regard, several suspects have been identified and arrested, and the relevant cases have been sent to judicial authorities for legal proceedings.
