Ayoub Cheraghi, in the seventh meeting of the working group for the prevention and confrontation of smuggling and the off-network supply of petroleum products held at the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company in Ilam, referred to the elimination of unconventional fuel licenses as one of the most successful programs of this working group in controlling and confronting fuel smuggling. According to him, this action has led to the prevention of smuggling nearly 9 million liters of fuel per month.
Implementation of the 24-Article Instruction for Combating Fuel Smuggling
Cheraghi emphasized the necessity of fully implementing the 24-article instruction for combating fuel smuggling, stating that this instruction was communicated to executive agencies last year after being approved by the esteemed President. He also appreciated the cooperation of the judiciary, the General Inspection Organization, security and law enforcement forces, the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company, the Agricultural Jihad, the General Directorate of Industry, Mine and Trade, and other members of the Planning, Coordination and Supervision Commission for Combating Goods and Currency Smuggling in implementing the programs of this commission.
Installation of Fuel Monitoring Devices and Addressing Violations
Cheraghi announced the implementation of a plan to install fuel monitoring devices on agricultural tractors, stating that this plan is being executed in collaboration with governors, agricultural jihad managers of the counties, and the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company, and it is expected that all these machines will be equipped with the fuel monitoring system before the end of the year, which will help in managing and preventing fuel smuggling.
He also referred to addressing the issuance of fictitious bills of lading, announcing that the General Directorate of Roads and Urban Development has identified 102 cases of violations in the issuance of fictitious documents, and the cases have been referred to judicial and supervisory authorities for legal follow-up. Cheraghi called for serious action against violators and abusers in this area.
In conclusion, he announced the operationalization of instant payment for rewards for fuel discovery based on the instruction sent from the Central Headquarters for Combating Goods and Currency Smuggling, and emphasized including two axes of confronting fictitious documents and addressing organized smuggling in future meetings.
