Amir Khosravi, an energy expert, in an analytical note, has examined the inefficiency of energy governance and its consequences on the daily lives of people. He points out that the energy imbalance is not just a technical issue for the ministries of oil and power, but is related to the national budget, production, inflation, and household welfare.
Consequences of Inefficient Energy Governance
Khosravi states that limitations in electricity supply for production units lead to reduced production and increased costs, which will transfer this pressure to the economy. Additionally, when household consumption faces restrictions, the costs of the inefficient energy system are imposed on the people. This expert notes that existing problems cannot be solely attributed to "high consumption of the people" or "cheap energy."

Factors Affecting Energy Imbalance
Khosravi continues that the price of energy is only one variable among the factors affecting energy imbalance. He refers to past years' policies regarding pricing and subsidies, investment, the efficiency of power plants and networks, technology, vehicles and transportation, construction, industrial policy, the establishment of energy-intensive industries, and consumption management. These factors play a role in shaping the current situation.
According to him, if today all recommendations are limited to increasing prices or reducing consumption, a large part of the problems will be overlooked. Khosravi emphasizes that to solve this issue, there is a need for a comprehensive and multifaceted approach that considers all aspects of the problem.
In general, the inefficiency of energy governance not only affects the quality of life of the people but also has negative economic consequences that can impact the future of the country. Therefore, there is a need to reconsider energy policies and pay attention to all aspects of this issue.
