Amir Ghaderi emphasized the importance of sustainable energy supply as one of the fundamental and long-term issues of Kurdistan province during a meeting to review the electricity supply for government agencies and public institutions from renewable energy sources in Sanandaj. He stated that temporary solutions cannot be relied upon for this issue and it is essential that energy consumption management begins with government entities.

The Necessity of Reforming Energy Consumption Patterns

Ghaderi stressed that executive agencies must reform their consumption patterns to facilitate the participation of other sectors and institutionalize the culture of optimal consumption. He also referred to the necessity of reducing consumption and utilizing existing capacities in the field of renewable energy, adding that the establishment of solar systems and power plants in offices, villages, and other suitable areas of the province should be pursued seriously.

Economic and Environmental Dimensions of Solar Energy

The head of the Coordination of Urban Affairs at the Kurdistan Governorate referred to studies conducted on the use of solar energy by executive agencies. According to him, these studies have considered the economic, environmental, and defensive aspects of implementing solar projects, and now the results of these studies must be translated into practical action. Ghaderi noted that utilizing solar power plants in executive agencies can not only meet part of their electricity needs but also help reduce the load on the grid and better manage electricity imbalance.

He also emphasized that each executive agency should allocate a specific program and share for solar energy development according to its capacity, and provincial actions should not be limited to national centralized and mandated projects. Ghaderi stressed the necessity of continuous evaluation of agencies' performance in the energy sector and said: "Defining specific indicators and continuous monitoring of performance can guide executive agencies towards more effective actions for reducing consumption and developing clean energy."

Long-term Goals for Addressing Energy Imbalance

In conclusion, Ghaderi noted that achieving long-term goals for addressing energy imbalance requires integrated management, coordination among agencies, and continuity of development programs. According to him, renewable energies must evolve from a temporary plan to a permanent part of the province's executive programs.
