Amer Shipping has partnered with Van de Graaf & Meeusen to establish a new company in Belgium. This new company will provide transportation services for dry cargo, general cargo, and breakbulk in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) region, as well as the German canals, Moselle, and inland waterways leading to the city of Basel.
Development of Services to the Black Sea
Through a partnership with Stream Shipping, which is an existing collaboration between Amer Shipping and the German cooperative MSG eG, this new company will be able to serve destinations far from the Black Sea. This collaboration allows Amer Shipping to expand its service range to a broader spectrum of international markets.
The new partners have also contracted a dry cargo vessel measuring 85 meters from Concordia Damen. This vessel will be named Porta Sud and is expected to enter service in the second half of 2027. The design of this vessel allows it to access small inland ports, branches, and canals, as well as major rivers.
Expansion of Amer Shipping's Fleet
This new initiative comes just a few weeks after Amer Shipping signed contracts for two additional 110-meter vessels from Concordia Damen. This will bring the number of Amer Shipping's shallow-draft vessels to six. Amer Shipping currently operates a network of nearly 60 vessels that transport approximately 9 million tons of cargo annually in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, and Switzerland.
The company's new partner, Van de Graaf & Meeusen, is a specialist in shipping and chartering based in Ridderkerk, with a fleet of push boats and barges for dry cargo market services. This new collaboration demonstrates Amer Shipping's commitment to expanding its services and enhancing transportation capabilities in international markets.
