Aker Solutions, a Norway-based energy services provider, has signed a multi-year contract with BP, a UK-based energy giant. This contract enables the team based in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, to provide engineering services, integrity management, project support, and operational services across a broader asset portfolio in the North Sea.

Contract Details

Aker Solutions has secured a framework agreement to provide engineering and integrity services for BP's North Sea assets. This new award expands the company's existing support for BP's assets in West Shetland and also includes central North Sea assets.

Steinar Rognes, Acting Executive Vice President of Aker Solutions' Life Cycle segment, stated: “We are pleased to take on expanded responsibilities and look forward to continuing our support for BP's safe, reliable, and efficient operations.”

Duration and Impacts

This contract has an initial duration of three years with two optional one-year extensions and will be managed by Aker Solutions' Life Cycle segment from the company's facilities in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The contract is expected to support around 50 jobs.

Rognes added: “This award strengthens our position in the UK market and supports our goal of growing the life cycle business. Expanding our role in a broader asset portfolio demonstrates the value of combining technical expertise, commercial competitiveness, and strong partnerships with customers.”

Aker Solutions is currently engaged in several projects, including a recent collaboration with Microsoft to accelerate carbon capture and storage (CCS) and carbon dioxide removal (CDR) projects to reduce execution risks and assist developers in reaching the final investment decision (FID) stage.
