Karun Oil and Gas Operating Company has successfully achieved a 100% increase in oil production in the first half of the current year. Hassan Shahrouyi, the CEO of the company, announced that this growth occurred alongside an increase in the volume of major repair operations and modernization of facilities and infrastructure.
Repair and Modernization Operations
During this period, 93 well repair operations were conducted using a mobile core drilling rig, 17 acidizing operations for wastewater injection wells, and 35 perforation and profiling operations were carried out. Additionally, 19 installations of wellhead facilities and numerous corrective and safety measures for wellhead equipment were recorded during this period. Shahrouyi emphasized that these activities achieved a growth of 15 to 40% compared to the same period last year and played a significant role in maintaining production capacity and enhancing well productivity.

Major Repairs and Strategic Facilities
The CEO of Karun Oil and Gas Operating Company also referred to major repairs at 5 gas stations, conducting thickness testing over nearly 49,000 meters, and visual inspections over 1,200 meters. During this period, the replacement of 6 kilometers of pipeline connections in production and desalination units and the supply and repair of 1,800 industrial parts were also significant actions taken by the company in the field of repairs and maintenance of infrastructure. These actions were aimed at increasing the reliability of equipment, improving the quality of produced oil, and reducing unexpected downtimes.
Shahrouyi mentioned plans for the modification, replacement, and safety enhancement of pipelines aimed at improving safety and production sustainability, emphasizing that maintaining production capacity and accelerating major repairs will be the company's main priorities in the second half of this year. Karun Oil and Gas Operating Company, a subsidiary of the National Iranian South Oil Company, plays a vital role in the country's oil industry, producing over 70% of Iran's crude oil.
